Postdoctoral researchers

There are currently no funded postdoctoral openings in the group. Prospective postdocs with external fellowship support are welcome to contact us about a joint application. The following programs can support eligible researchers at Columbia; host agreement and program-specific eligibility requirements apply.

Call information checked September 8, 2026. Follow the official links for application requirements and updates.

  • Columbia Physics EKA Postdoctoral Program: the 2026 call is closed. A 2027 call has not yet been announced in the department sources checked.
  • Simons Society of Fellows: Junior Fellows: nominations for 2027 starts are due September 10, 2026, at noon Eastern time. Candidates require a nominator; the intended host mentor cannot serve as nominator. The fellowship supports up to three years of independent research at a New York City educational institution.
  • MSCA Global Postdoctoral Fellowships: the 2026 deadline is September 9, 2026. The next call is tentatively scheduled to open April 7, 2027, with a September 8, 2027 deadline. Global Fellowships can support 12–24 months at Columbia followed by a mandatory 12-month return to a European host; nationality or long-term-residency and mobility rules apply.
  • L’Oréal USA For Women in Science: the 2026 call is closed; a 2027 call has not yet been announced in the official sources checked. The latest call required an existing postdoctoral appointment and U.S. citizenship or permanent residency. This research award does not by itself establish a postdoctoral position.

Moore Foundation: future calls to watch

Host eligibility for these future programs has not yet been confirmed. They are not currently available routes to funding a position at Columbia.

  • EPiQS Quantum Bridge Fellowships: calls are tentatively planned for 2027 and 2028. These support early-career quantum-materials researchers seeking training in another quantum discipline; postdoctoral projects may involve co-mentorship. Detailed call requirements and deadlines are pending.
  • EPiQS theory postdoctoral fellowships: Moore plans a national program with annual calls beginning in 2029 and continuing through 2034. This is an upcoming program, not a currently open fellowship call; timing remains tentative.

Graduate students

Prospective graduate students should apply through the Columbia Physics graduate program.

Fellowships for graduate study at Columbia

Students apply directly to these programs. Fellowship applications are separate from admission to Columbia; citizenship, residency, and stage-of-study requirements vary.

Undergraduate students

Motivated Columbia undergraduates are welcome to contact us about summer and academic-year research projects. Students from other institutions can also apply to the Columbia MRSEC Research Experiences for Undergraduates program. The application runs annually; the official page lists the current dates, eligibility rules, and application materials.
